Swimmers are grouped by age as well as by skill level within the age group. This is done to ensure that each swimmer practices and competes in a grouping that most closely mirrors that swimmers physical abilities and skills, and to align our team with the USA Swimming's groupings for time standards. The groupings are as follows.

• 8 and Under
• 9-10 year olds
• 11-12 year olds
• 13-14 year olds
• High School

Swimmers can be moved to the next group prior to reaching the age limit two ways.

1. If a swimmer's 9th, 11th, 13th or 15th birthday falls during the session, they may swim in the next group up.
2. The other way is by the coaches and the swimmer's parents mutually agreeing that a swimmer should be moved up based on his/her skill as a swimmer, and their readiness to handle more physically demanding workouts.
